100 Crooked Little Crime Stories

Dead Men Talk was about a blind man named Bill who was murdered. While Ned, the killer, was still in Bill’s apartment, the sheriff stopped by. Ned was nervous about seeing him, but he played it cool. When the sheriff left, Ned collapsed in a chair and was relieved the sheriff left. Two days later, Ned had his suitcase and was ready to leave. The sheriff stopped by and offered Ned a ride. He picked up Ned’s suitcase, and they walked out to he sheriff’s car. The sheriff told him that he needed to stop by his office first. They walked inside the office, and the sheriff told Ned that he had a paper he wanted Ned to see.

Roland Curtis entered the building. Nails Sperry sent for him. Curtis didn’t know why Nails Sperry wanted to speak to him. Nails asked him about the pearl necklace. Curtis told him he had it, but he couldn’t dispose of it because of the will. Nails Sperry told him he just wanted to borrow the pearls. Nails wanted Curtis to send the pearls to the jewelers so he could fix the clasp. Nails told Curtis he was going to contact the insurance company about the missing pearls. Then, Nails would have the money for the pearls, and in three days Curtis would have the pearls. Now, you’ll have to read the story to find out what happened.

Romance On A Deserted Island - Or Is It?

Romance On A Deserted Island - Or Is It? is written by Janet Blaylock. This is my first book that I have had published. It is a series of books for young adults to adults. You can access the book by going to Romance On A Deserted Island - Or Is It?

Penny Marshall wanted to move to Lakeview (a fictitious city) because she wanted to escape from her present circumstances, which reminded her of her past. She felt like she had to be perfect, and she couldn’t live up to people’s expecations. The suspense starts to build when Penny came home and found a body in her bathtub. Penny stared at the body and dashed out of her place and down to Abby’s apartment. After Abby got Penny calmed down, they returned to the Penny’s place, but as they approached the door, they heard a sound inside, so they turned dashed back to Abby’s apartment. A few minutes later, they entered Penny’s apartment, found that the body had disappeared, so they returned to Abby’s place and called the police.

This short story is about the narrator and the time he spent with Mrs. Ellis and her daughter, Mumps. He liked Mumps when he first saw her. Late on, he drove through the area of where they lived so he could visit them again. When he returned to her house, he found out that Mrs. Ellis wasn’t there and hadn’t been for two years. He didn’t know what to think. Nobody knew what happened to Mrs. Ellis. Now, you’ll have to read the story to find out what happened to Mrs. Ellis.

This story is about a man named Mole. He got a job working in a passenger lift in the Empire Hotel. He would take passengers up and down throughout the day and night. There was a mirror in the lift, and the women would make sure they looked okay before they went out for the evening. One man that he remembered the most was Colonel Saxby. One night, he got called to go up to the fourth floor. Colonel Saxby wanted to take the lift down. Mole didn’t know why he would want to leave at 12 midnight when he hadn’t left his room for ten days. He went to get him and took him down to the main floor. A few minutes later, two men wanted to go up to the fourth floor. They were called to see about a patient. The patient was Colonel Saxby. The nurse came out of the room and said the patient died five mintes go. Now, you’ll have to read the story to find out what happened. He died in his room, but yet he took the lift down to go outside before that.

If This Be Madness was an interesting story. It was about a man who went into the bank to get two thousand dollars. The clerk gave him two hundred ten dollar bills. After that, he walked out of the building and started buying things that people wore such as a necktie, or he traded bills for fifty cents. People thought the bills were counterfit. The police came and arrested him. Before he climbed into the car and watched the policemen go after the money. He thought the scene was hilarious. He has to deliver a briefcase that is locked. He cannot unlock it, and it doesn’t know what’s inside the briefcase. Mr. Van was an antique dealer, and he had several antiques in his apartment. Later on, Mr. Van was moved to a mental hospital. One of the stories, The Hero of Drummond Street, is about a cat named Drooler. Every child teased him. One child even pulled part of his tail off. No matter what people did to the cat, he still acted the same. He was called Drooler because he drooled a lot, and wherever he went, he left his drooling. Drooler became a hero because he smelled a gas leak. Vernon, the boy who pulled off Drooler’s tail, became upset because he claimed to be the hero. The Consolation Bride is found in the anthology, The Adventure of the Missing Detective. It is written in first person. The narrator is a writer named John who attended an awards banquet. He was positive he was going to win an award for his book, but he didn’t. His publisher and others who helped with the book escorted him out of the room. They went to another room where he met a woman named Cassie. They chatted for a long time about different things except for his book and who won the award. He didn’t want to discuss that. Later on, he was relieved that they could talk because he hadn’t thought about his book and losing the award. They ended up going to his room and talked. She wanted to give him a back rub. The next day, John called her and wanted to get together again, but she told him no because he was married, and she didn’t become involved in affairs. He told her he wasn’t married even though it said he was on the book jackets. She didn’t believe him. Now, you’ll have to read the story to find out what happened.

However, Goodcastle was brought up doing the right thing and living a good life until he went to war. The narrator thought that was why Goodcastle probably turned to stealing. Goodcastle was satisfied when he stole from people. Now, you’ll have to read the story to find out what happened.
