Nothing Short of Highway Robbery by Lawrence Block

Nothing Short of Highway Robbery by Lawrence Block is a great story. You will enjoy reading it. This story is found in the anthology, The Collected Mystery Stories. The main characters are two con men who robbed banks and places where they could get a lot of money. These two were driving to meet their partner. However, they needed some gas, so they stopped at a gas station that was out in the country. There was a restaurant across the street. All they needed was some gas, but the service attendant kept telling them other things they needed. They couldn’t believe what was happening to them. They also wondered if the gas was legitimate or was a con man. Things keep mounting up as the service man finds more things wrong with the car. You’ll have to read the story to find out what happens.
