Enough Rope by Lawrence Block
Weekend Guests by Lawrence Block is a great short story. It’s about a couple who were away for the weekend, and when they returned, they found their house a shambles. Everything was turned upside down. Someone had entered their house while they were gone. Later that night, Pete picked up Eddie, the one whose house was broken into, and they went for a ride. Roz, Eddie’s wife stayed home. They talked about the burglary. Now, you’ll have to read the story to see what happened and where Eddie and Pete were headed.
