    I’m a junior judge in an Australian literary award for the young adult section (all the fantasy and science fiction and horror publisehd in Australia this calendar year). It’s the most fabulous thing to do, because you get to read a gorgeous array of young adult novels and short stories. They list the entries on the website, too. In 6 weeks everything published this year will be up there and you can see just how much young adult speculative ficiton was published in Australia in 2006. Remind me and I’ll find you the URL. Right now the list is at 3/4, which is a frustrating stage. (Tansy at Kids dish is a more senior judge than I and in the fantasy category - very differnt books!)
